“Kaira, are you awake?” Shal’s voice whispered and Kaira opened her eyes as she dreamily smiled.

“Good morning Shal. Did you sleep well?”

“Okay, I guess. You’re awfully happy this morning. What have you been dreaming about?”

Was it that obvious? “Birjanji and Lance.”

“Who’s Lance?”

“The knight—his name is Lance.”

“How did you find that out?”

“He told me last night.”

Shal looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “He told you last night? Have I missed something here?”
