Kaira took a deep breath while the knight holding her dismounted, and a man in a green and yellow tunic came over to take the stallion’s reins. The knight pulled his helmet off and then turned to assist Kaira.

Her nervousness was forgotten when she stared down into the most beautiful pair of eyes. He was perfect. There was no other word to describe him. His forehead and chin were bold, yet the area around his mouth and eyes spoke of sensitivity within. Thick hair, the shade of burnished gold, fell to his shoulders, framing golden-tanned skin. Eyes the color of the ocean, a deep blue, looked back at her from a clean-shaven face. It was as if her daydreams suddenly came to life.

He reached up for her.
