     ‘What was you like as a child?’

      ‘I was very demanding, as I am sure you can imagine. How about you? I bet you were a cute kid,’ he deflected, not wanting to reveal too much. He wanted her blessing this weekend, her blessing to continue whatever it was they had started between them. Her blessing of the business, the way he worked and his values. He wanted it more than he’d ever wanted anyone’s blessing before. Knowing that made him feel like he was entering the unknown. How would it feel to be more open with her? If she knew the truth about him. She’d probably think he was awful.
