As the evening panned out, she carried her role out effectively, she networked, growing more confident with every person she spoke too, she even got to speak to the mayor and his wife. They were very interested in her knowledge of flowers and invited her to contact them at a later date with regards to her flower arranging. Luke hadn’t stated that she could only network on his behalf! Mia was thoroughly enjoying the evening, although she felt uneasy about Luke’s expression when he’d spoken about his parents, there was something amiss. Occasionally their eyes would meet from across the room and he would smile, which made her feel important and safe.
