The rugged landscape created obscure shadows in the night. Falcon’s eyes traced the outlines of the rock formations and looked at how the earth met the sky. He had never been to Arizona before, in fact, he had never been that far west before. The last thing he wanted to do was leave the safety of the car and go out into the uncertain land of the unknown but he had no choice. They were two hours from the Navajo Nation and he would not have time to make a phone call once he arrived.
Falcon cleared his throat, “Could we stop at that gas station up ahead?”
“I got gas about three hours ago. We’re fine.” Randy assured.
“No, that’s not it. I need to make a phone call.”
