The one officer claimed. They searched every room with precision and unhealthy obsession. After an hour the three officers spoke to Thelma, Josiah and Lucy.

 

“If we find out where you're hiding him, we’ll bring you all down! That’s a promise.” The still wind was distrubed and an angry, heavy storm moved in through the plains. Thelma could have sworn that she had never seen a rainstorm that bad her entire life living in South Dakota.
