Myron decided the walk back to the manor needed to be expeditious where the walk out had been meandering. Certainly Seamus was up to something and wanted Myron out of his hair, and now that Myron thought about it, the situation in town did require resolution. Lord Uhelbar would be useless, as far as contract negotiations went, until they could figure out who was snatching the children.

But one thing stuck in Myron’s mind as he walked back: the age of those gargoyles… or “Hunky Punks,” as Seamus called them. Something did not seem right about them going back several centuries, as Seamus had said. He noticed similar statues watching over the groundkeeper Nick Collys’s gatehouse as he returned to the manor grounds.
