A promise of Summer has scorched its petals

Half the year has danced a jig

We are all delighted to come back together

What lies ahead none of us has a clue

We’ve taken all the precautions but will it do?

Throwing caution to the wind because we believe

May flowers will bloom once again

Should we be so quick to forget the plague's embrace

Too late to matter now

Lovers crave a touch of a not so distant face

Grandparents tired of sobbing for lack of seeing newborn babes

Industries brick and mortar demanding the sweat of 9 to 5 lives

Chained to the grind of yet another economic master

Grinding our potential to the dust and trading dreams not yet realized...
