What a year I don’t want to review

There’s been more than our frail lives could endure

New words and terms we all learned

Quarantine fatigue

There’s one last hurdle we must overcome

The urge to bring in the New Year

I was raised with superstitions

Not to let the New Year find me where I don’t want to be

But this house has become a shelter

I made a vow that it would not be a tomb

My home has become a womb

Birthing new ideas

A new life that has taken on a new meaning

I’m ready with hope packed in my bag

Ready to take it with me to 2021
