If not now, then when?

If not us, then who?

Will we leave it to the unborn

To do what the living should do

Declare out loud we are worth it from sea to shining sea

Will I look down as a whisper of dust’s memory

And console the hearts of a future generation left grieving

Will it matter if none of them can dare to dream

If we let the “what if’s” silence our dignity

We didn’t choose to live in this moment of history

It has assuredly chosen us

A voice to the voiceless

To use our gift of voting to speak
