So I am here I see the burn

I feel the rage

I understand the pain

The talk that I hope will save a life

That will end the cycle

That will breed a generation

I watch that hope crushed under “the knee”

Intolerance

Incapable to see a human being

Incapable to see we all bleed

And we are all one

So that talk, not of the birds and the bees

Not the talk of what should be with a youth full of possibilities should hear

That talk for me as a mother

A mother of four young black men

Is a talk explaining why we have to have “The Talk”

Because of the words

I CAN’T BREATHE

We must seek and progress to equality
