I live in a city
I have to take on my commute
I fought it as long as I could
But I have to do what most adults have to do
So I sit in my vehicle and play this game
A different type of Red Rover
One that we don’t hold hands
Let alone let others in the lane
I like to think that there’s an etiquette to driving
Everyone’s rushing to get to where they need to be
Desperately bumper to bumper
There aren’t any signs of courtesies
No one wants to give up an inch of a road that doesn’t even belong to them
What a mirror to life that is
We are all heading in the same direction
Does it matter if I let two, three, or even four cars ahead of me...
