Picturesque like the deepest swamps in the bayou
The darkest corners that the unconscious explores
We all have that place
I’ve tiptoed on the ridges of crocodile backs
Instinctively I knew when to leap avoiding
Life’s dismantling teeth sinking in after the snap
Of my mind when there never isn’t enough time
What magnificence a day brings
But can we measure a day in such meager constraints of hours
What if a day was experiences collected over time
What if our life was one continuous long day?
Then one day we take our final sleep
I will miss this place I’ve come to rest and called a creative home
