Eagles soar
My feet grew weary
I started fierce
Only to be humbled by my own dream
Discouraged by the gainsayers
And the flash started
Then the flame
The tongue struck words
A wild fire began
Starting at my new identity, my worth, and what I deserve
And in no particular order without disguise
Backfire
When I tried to flee
Engulfing what's left of me
So here I am on my knees smoldering
As it may seem
I'm glad is not how it is
You promised me beauty for these useless ashes
Oil of joy for mourning
I gladly accept the trade
To mend my broken heart that I know you can heal
