She attended Terry Parker High School and graduated in the top 10% of her class in 2005. After graduation Melissa spent time in Madrid Spain and Paris France. “On day I would love to return to Madrid for a long vacation." She then went to college at FSCJ and received a degree in psychology in 2008. She worked in the St. Francis Heart hospital for 2 years before deciding to go back to school. Melissa’s hardest subjects in school were reading and literature. In 8th grade her English teacher, Mrs. Roberts, inspired her to start writing. She didn’t start taking her writing serious until the age
of 21. “I had a crazy dream I just couldn’t get out of my head so I started writing it down and what do ya’ know it turned into a book.” When asked where her inspirations come for her stories she replied, “Music and books I read inspire me. Even people I meet are inspirational and sometimes turn into characters in my stories.”
In January of 2016 Melissa will be starting her very own Podcast, Book Haven: Your Passport to Anywhere, which will review different books requested requested by listeners through her website and that she has read and deemed note worthy.
