Author Bio For Mark J Diez:

Mark J Diez began writing fiction in 1995, starting with the Tales of Malartú fantasy series of short stories and gamebooks. After several years focusing on fantasy adventure writing for video and board game worlds he migrated to action adventure and the Hannover series.

With that project complete he returns to his roots, to reignite the adventures in the world of Malartú. As part of that, readers can enjoy regular updates to the ongoing Malartú series but also as part of the Channillo subscription get access to the lore, history, maps character backgrounds and other details of the world. 

As a special challenge, the series contains snippets of the Neron Cipher that over the chapters readers can analyse to work out the entire cipher and reveal the messages that have been shared!

About the World

The world of Malartú is a rich fantasy world with landmasses, lords, peoples, gods, history, ancient artefacts and more. In the Rise of Al'daer we are already in the 85th year of the 2nd era, marked by the reign of Galrach II on the strategically important island of the Sháelarn.

Readers join the story as the world slips back into the chaos it had left behind in the reign of Galrach I or Galrach the Consoler as he had become known after the great Land War.

The map depicts the island as it was when Al'daer arrived and how Lord Galrach II had undertaken no development of his lands.

* Dates are written as E2D85 - this refers to the Era + Day, so E2D85 is the 2nd Era on the 85th day

* When reading names and places with accents, emphasis is placed on the accented letter to make that letter stronger. This is just like in Spanish. For example Néron would be said more like NEron. Sháelarn is less like Shee-larn and more like ShA-larn with a long aaa sound.
