It had rained that night, making the air in the camp chilly and unsettling. Theresa dressed quickly in her cabin. She’d hardly slept and now that the sun was creeping though the windows, she was relieved that she could escape her prison to find Kirk. She scurried down the path toward his cabin, fighting tears. She waited for him behind a tree and pounced on him as he exited his log home, grabbing at his arm.
“The girls in my cabin set me up last night,” she screeched into the damp air.
Kirk jumped at her sudden appearance, but then looked down at his feet.
“I know,” he mumbled, looking ashamed.
Theresa couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “Why didn’t you warn me?” she yelled.
