CHAPTER THREE

Cara

 Cara stretched on her bed and decided she couldn’t read another word until she went to the bathroom.  She noticed how quiet the house was and wondered where her mother had gone.  When she finished in the bathroom, she noticed a note stuck to the fridge.

“Hey Honey.  Gone for a walk.  Back soon. Hope you’re enjoying the book.  I’ll make lunch.  XOXO.”

Cara grabbed a container of peanuts and took her book to the front porch.  It was such a beautiful day.  Should she be out enjoying it instead of pouring over her mother’s book?  But Cara couldn’t disappoint her mom.  It was obvious she wanted her to read this book, and to be honest, Cara couldn’t put it down.&n...
