One thing about having friends from childhood was that they knew what questions not to ask.  The question Sybille and Mallory never asked her was “How do you feel about your father killing himself?”  They must have heard the story, but it was never a topic of conversation between them.  As she lay in bed on the second morning of camp, she couldn’t seem to stop thinking about him.  He had committed suicide when she was four, so she didn’t remember much.  What she knew was second-hand information and very sparse at that.
