The hotel and restaurant-clogged streets of Banff felt smaller once Theresa returned home from Camp Morningfire.  The room she shared with her mother was so claustrophobic that she began sleeping with the window open, something she’d always been afraid to do before.  Her connection to Kirk was her lifeline; the place where she could unwind and feel comfortable. 

Her friendship with Sybille and Mallory continued, separately.  The openness they once shared was stifled by the secrets that could not be revealed.  Theresa found herself drawing closer to Sybille, despite her efforts to remain neutral.  Kate’s presence in Mallory’s life was continuous and Theresa found it difficult.
