Theresa

Theresa stayed close to Randi all morning and sat with her at lunch.  She saw Kirk in line and wondered what to say to him.  Did she really owe him anything?  She decided to let it be for now, but when Drake sat beside her, she had to face him.  Randi got up and left abruptly.  Theresa wondered if she should join her friend, but Drake started talking.

“Terry, I know I messed up.  I really did want to meet you.  The bet was just something I did to give myself courage.”

“Must be a guy thing,” said Theresa, lifting a shoulder dismissively. 

“Really, you’re something else.  I’ve never met anyone like you.  I don’t usually act like such an idiot.”
