CHAPTER TEN

Cara

Cara had begun to hope that Theresa was her mother.  Theresa seemed like her mother.  Kind, forgiving and gentle.  And Kirk seemed like a good father, but why would someone who was so religious leave her mother?  Weren’t Christians supposed to get married if they were having a baby?   Cara reasoned that he must have died and left her mother alone.  That was the only reason she could fathom forgiving.  But then why had her mother kept it such a secret?  Was she still heart-broken?
