CHAPTER NINE

Cara

“Is this for real?”  Cara thought after reading about Kirk and Theresa.  She had never heard of anyone actually becoming a priest.  She wondered what this had to do with her. 

She and her mother had gone to church since she was a little girl.  She felt safe there and loved.  It was like a family for her and her mother when they had no one else.  They celebrated holidays, sang in the choir and gave a portion of money to the church every Sunday.  If her mother were Theresa, had Cara’s father been Kirk?  And if so, was this why Cara’s mother loved the church so much?
