“This is turning into an aweome summer!” Sybille thought.  She was elated to learn that Mallory had quit working at the restaurant, but pretended to be shocked and worried for the benefit of her coworkers who thought she and Mallory were best friends.  Sybille had stayed awake for hours after Lucas brought her back home, so she called in sick the day Mallory quit.  She spent the day in bed and going for walks.  Her thoughts flipped between excitement over her future with Lucas and worrying how it would ever work out.
