I wish to be a feather,

to float and flutter,

to glide and drift,

this way and that.

All at the whim of a breeze.

Feeling oh so light, so weightless.

Taking my own sweet time,

to return to the earth.

Hovering above all of the world's troubles,

not quite visible or audible,

at this distance.

Looking up instead

to the heavens,

the sky filled

with cotton ball clouds.

At this journeys completion

I am overtaken

with the desire

for it all to begin again.
