I got word today, that you have died and yet I do not cry.

I feel so many disparate emotions.

I have not spoken to you in almost two decades.

I will say my peace nonetheless.

I do mourn.

All the lost opportunities.

All the chances you had to change and be a better man.

I am aware, many terrible things happened to you early in life.

I mourn the first time your heart was broken , the little boy you were then.

On the other hand, my heart was broken when I was but a small girl and 

I choose not to perpetuate the pain.
