Series Info | Table of Contents

You have me in a choke hold.

I struggle to breathe freely.

You are a pillow full of feathers and a brick wall.

All squishy and hard, all at once.

You are the possessor of so much wisdom and behave like a child.

You know me better and misunderstand me, on a greater scale than any other.

I was an open book and an enigma to you.

You are my roots and wings, all while you cling to a past that once asphyxiated me.

I rip myself from your grasp and return starving for your approval.

You are leaving, little by little and it is as if I am no longer tethered to the Earth.
