Sitting in the second seat aching and sweating from exertion, Mac took one thing as solace. Even God had to wrestle with the storm. She didn't speak the whole time she maneuvered them out of the worst of the weather and her eyes focused tightly on the touchscreens and her head's up display. When the coastline of their island loomed out the dismal gray, Mac heard her release a sigh onto the net.

"Believe it or not," she said to everyone, "a thunderstorm like that is worse than a hurricane. A hurricane has higher winds, but those winds are way more organized. Not as many surprises with vertical drafts, sidewinds, buffers, and pressure changes."
