The black-and-white tiled floor seemed out of place to me. Really, though, I felt like I was more out of place than the flooring. Walking into our new Sunday school venue seemed eerie and surreal. Our church had recently leased this building less than half a mile from our new church building. This building that was formerly an abortion clinic.

Loretta and I were married in the late afternoon and, like many newly married couples, didn’t quite find the time during the reception to actually get anything to eat…except for that ceremonial bite of cake, of course. We were starving by the time our limousine dropped us off at the French Quarter Inn in Midtown Memphis. We soon found our way to a nearby TGIFriday’s to grab a bite to eat.
