The rest of the day was markedly uneventful. After a light meal, Erin and Adam set out to play their roles, leaving the others behind. David was glad to have Reece with him to get bored together while Erin ambled up and down the shopping centre in her borrowed straw hat, tagged by Adam.
‘Sorry about yesterday’s standup,’ Reece said.
‘It’s all right. After all, you didn’t know me.’
‘I guess the punishment fits the crime. I could have saved myself this.’ Reece pointed at his head dressing.
‘If it’s any consolation, I would never bash your head in. Adam’s is another story, but not yours.’
