Despite all their efforts, the younger members of the party were out of ideas. They weren’t able to conceive anything remotely useful that evening. Agents Pla and Constantí exchanged some pleasantries with them, but had no information to offer, aside from reassuring them that control patrols had been deployed all over the area. They were mostly waiting to receive news from those.

Erin enjoyed a nice chat in the kitchen with the others. The Weston family made good company. Erin wondered, not for the first time, whether Charlie had been found in the tip.

When the sun showed signs of wanting to call it a day at last, Adam invited her to sit outside. They propped themselves on a canopied garden swing.
