Elise and Joseph Lowe had been accommodated in an excellent room. It was bright and airy, the size of a small apartment, fitted with a full, luxurious en-suite. The furniture had been cleverly placed to divide the space in two main areas, one for the bed and another one arranged as a comfortable lounge. It was the best room in the house with a difference. However, the Lowes weren’t happy. They felt vexed and constricted. They had been telling themselves that the method used by the police in the transfer to this place was meant to protect them. But the undeniably liberal way in which their pitiful offspring was treated was in appalling contrast with what they were getting. Now they were sitting in front of the television set, each on a comfortable leather armchair, neither watching the screen or hearing the people talking...
