The group moved as one, dragging her to the inside of the pet shop opposite the café. Adam and Erin followed one of the boys along one of the pet food laden aisles to the bottom of the shop, where he greeted a woman who was filling some paperwork on a counter next to a wall of fish tanks. The woman acknowledged their presence with an absent-minded gesture. Adam’s friend moved a shelving unit which appeared to be fixed to the wall but was actually a service door in disguise, and made the pair go through it with him. They were now in a well lit space, where the smells of the shop had waned and were now mixing with the odours of medicine and disinfectant.
