David had overheard Reece muttering to himself by the reception desk at the hotel, recognising the name of the young guy who had left the breakfast hall with Erin, and when he realised this other guy was after a means of transport he struck up a conversation with him. It didn’t take him long to find out what errand Reece was on, and insisted on driving him wherever he needed to go. Since the receptionist was proving unsuccessful at finding him a vehicle, Reece gratefully agreed.

‘There’s a taxi rank right by the entrance to the village, you dolt,’ Adam said, murdering his cousin with a dark look. Reece shrugged.

‘It’s just a key, not the crown jewels,’ he said.

‘It’s all right, Reece told me you’re going to pick up the not-yet-weds,’ David...
