It wasn’t particularly late, but Erin wished she hadn’t overslept. Having forgotten to ask reception to wake her up and to set up her phone’s alarm as well, now she would most probably coincide with her parents during breakfast. She planned to spend the rest of her stay as far away from them as possible, but the breakfast hall wasn’t large enough for what she deemed ideal, which was several miles of hall and possibly a different dimension between them and her. Now, at the entrance of the restaurant, with all those people sitting there chatting, she felt intensely self-conscious. As she was considering leaving to buy a quick breakfast in town, Adam appeared next to her and invited her to his family’s table.
