Kara flew upwards, keeping her distance from the flailing legs of the Ferris wheel. Each broad sweep of the appendages cleared a slightly broader space, as the assembled crowds tried to run. From the air, Kara could see the likely source of the energy that had animated the Ferris wheel--the top of the axle was crackling with sickly green energy.

The caged car holding Bridget and a few other children was near the top of the Ferris wheel. Kara flew a little closer so that she could get a good look at the mechanism that held the door closed. The entire Ferris wheel shook as the free legs tugged at the two legs that were still stationary. It looked like it was trying to free itself from quicksand.
