What My Instagram Feed Would Be

For all those who hate having their picture taken

If my lens could capture your face

It would be all pictures of you

You reading

Your smile

The evening light on your face

How you look in the morning during breakfast

Before I’ve rubbed the sleep from my eyes

The way you tilt your head and listen as I talk

The way you sit and the on of the end of the couch while I read

But I can’t draw

Or capture you on film

So I just post pictures of books

And the dog

And the cat

And look empty on social media

Because the world can see only half my life.
