I spent my 20s in a relationship, living with my boyfriend, liking him some days and pretending to like him others.  When I came out of this relationship at 28, I had no idea how to get back in the dating game, and no true interest in doing so.  Now, a couple of years later, I have greater interest; however, the game seems to have changed significantly.

Apps like Tinder and Bumble have revolutionized the dating scene, allowing potential suitors to reject or accept people based on their looks alone, and with one quick flick of the finger.  In one sense – this depresses me significantly.  Can we be so shallow?  Can we really deem a person acceptable or not based solely on their looks?
