One of the things that I have learned as a 30-something professional is that business meetings are an unfortunate fact of life. At my place of employment, I can expect to attend no fewer than 3-5 meetings a week (and I am low on this higher education food-chain). My boss attends about five per day. We attend meetings to discuss what we’re doing, meetings to discuss what we should be doing, meetings that act more as faculty peer-mediation sessions, and meetings to discuss when we should have our next meeting.
