Dieter placed his dish and utensils into the sink, watching them drop below the surface of greasy suds. It would do to let them soak for a while before scrubbing. Breakfast had been a heavy affair, his appetite having returned after weeks of planning and worrying. All my worries are over now, he thought, turning away from the sink. The corners of his mouth turned up, his eyes twinkling. He had a newfound energy in his step that he had thought long lost, and he bounded out of the room and down the stairs.
