Amber had to wait until Monday to fly back, but Sally requested Jack return ASAP.  Her tone said she would brook no argument, but he was weary of this investigation, anyway.  It was beyond both his domain and his abilities.  When there’s nothing you can do, best to do nothing.  Other than the letter with the Montabaur postmark, he found nothing in Germany connecting his pen pal to events there.  Just another dead-end.
