Shouting from the hall wakes me the next morning.

I spring out of bed, still in yesterday’s clothes. I had bigger things to worry about last night than scrounging together some pajamas from the foreign dresser.

When I step into the hall, it's clear I've woken up late. Early sun shines in through the exit doors, painting the airbase outside in bright morning colors. I thought someone was supposed to wake me up early—like, before sunrise. Why hadn't anybody come to get me?

From the look on everyone’s frantic faces, I'm the least of their worries.

It's happened again.

Everyone's running, screaming. Chaos. I join them.
