You'd think the government would use some of its tax revenue to pave its own roads.

But that’s not the case here. The dirt road we're driving down is about as smooth as sandpaper. We're all bouncing and swaying as the Jeep thunders on. Not far ahead, a jackrabbit darts onto the road, looks us over, then promptly runs to the other side just before we would have flattened it.

The world on either side looks flat and endless, mostly made up of sandy tan dirt and deep emerald shrubbery. High above, a storm rolls in. Speckles of rain occasionally dot the windshield, but nothing to worry about just yet. However, it looks like the building in the distance is getting drenched.

I'm pretty sure that's where we're going. It's not like there’s much else out here...
