I scream as loud as I can, shrieking into the void, but no sound escapes my lips. I keep walking and soon, I'm at the porch.
A baby cries behind the shack.
It doesn’t sound right, like it’s choking on its own blood. I try one last, grueling time to take control, to bolt over and see if I can’t help the unseen child. But it's no use—whatever's controlling me has no intentions of letting me go.
I have no choice but to face my horrific fate.

I'm not even a foot away and still can’t see a thing inside.
