When she had left the other day, he thought that would be the last he’d see of her. There was a bit of disappointment as she’d walked out the door. He’d grown accustomed to seeing her around and had even become fond of her. She was an exceptionally hard worker. The way she went about the restorations was methodical and full of love – love for the house and the history it held and represented. No one else who had passed through these halls had shown half the care and reverence she had.
