The dreams of Lily continued.

Scott always woke up feeling like something important had slipped through his fingers. He was exhausted and couldn’t concentrate at work. His mood soured day after day until he was in a constant state of dark depression. In just a few weeks, he had gone from a man content with his life and excited about his future to a wreck of a human being who couldn’t see the point in his own existence.

Karen was worried. He felt terrible about that, but there was nothing she could do to make things better. She gave him space when he was in the deepest pits of sadness and tried to keep up a cheerful front when he showed signs of wanting to join the land of the living. That wasn’t often.
