She pushed away from the table and started scraping her dinner into the trash even though she had hardly eaten anything. After rinsing her plate and putting it in the dishwasher, Karen stood at the sink, her back to Scott. He hadn’t said anything more and Karen didn’t know exactly how to proceed.
The relationship between them had always been open and no-nonsense. That’s one of the things she loved about Scott. He didn’t play games. He said what he meant and meant what he said. Since their first date, she had never had to worry about counting on him, worry about him hiding anything from her. It was refreshing and a welcome change from her last relationship.
