West Coast field trip. Starting Monday, I wouldn’t have a day off for another two weeks.

Well, actually, starting that day, Sunday. After giving the professor the staff WiFi password, I rushed to the kitchen to work on making dinner for the 19 of us. With the help of two girls from my small group, we made dozens of grilled cheeses with homemade basil tomato soup and creamy broccoli cheddar soup just in time for the dinner bell. After helping clean up dinner, the students and staff collectively drove to Kaikoura’s north bay a few miles away for our weekly community night activity.

Every Sunday we had both our town hall meeting outlining the schedule for the week and then a community activity, usually in that order. But tonight was special.
