Imagine seeing a movie about cloning humans without being told it is about cloning. Was the team behind The Resurrection of Zachary Wheeler (1971) intentionally unwilling to use the term because cloning wasn’t such a thing in the sci-fi world of the time, or because they weren’t familiar with it (which is less likely given the well-researched substance of the movie)? In either case, the story by Jay Simms and Tom Rolf was directed by Bob Wynn into a movie that was ahead of its time in linking the potentially dark business of cloning people to the power of the establishment that stays behind the scenes.
