Jake squeezed my hand against his chest as the music ramped up into something raucous by the Rolling Stones. People around us started jumping and gyrating about.
He leaned down and shouted in my ear. “I can’t dance to this.”
“Me neither!”
He led me by the hand back to the table, and I squeezed back into my seat. Henry was gone, and Mike had an unlit cigarette hanging from his lip.
“You kids looked like you were having fun!” Mike yelled.
“She’s giving me dance lessons now!” Jake called.
